Warrior Princess: Cinderella

Description

This was an idea I had after seeing so many kawaii desu disney princesses floating around deviant art. Nothing against kawaii desu, I like it on a occasion when I'm feeling nostalgically thirteen, but after learning about anatomy I cannot look past the appalling thin waists, huge eyes, and mile long twig legs. It's a style, but it's not my style.

Now what I did enjoy was :iconjeftoon01: version of the princesses, it is deliciously dark and creepy.

But I wanted to find a middle ground, to make tough princesses but keep their core personality. Because there is something admirable about the princesses, but their stories are completely flawed. They are all women who yearn to find a better life, but instead of doing something about it they just sing about it, and wait for a magical fairy or a Prince to save them (except for Mulan and Pocahontas). And instead of finding adventure, they get married, (except for Mulan and Pocahontas XD).

So I wondered how the princesses would look as warriors.

Here is Cinderella as a fencer. It seems to suit her, because fencing is all about the fancy footwork, and you need some good shoes for that. And in the third movie the prince and the king were fencing, and it wouldn't be a stretch to think that maybe one of them had taught her.

I tried to keep her outfit as close to the colors of her classic dress, and the pummel of her sword into a pumpkin, though I'm not sure if I succeeded there.

And also, does anyone else notice that Cinderella's nose and ears always seem to disappear? Or is that just me?
